HISTORY OF CHAPTER
Sandhills Future Business Leaders of America was chartered in 1979 by Ainsworth FBLA. The current membership is 29 in grades 7-12. This year's Nebraska State and National FBLA theme is Aspire. Mrs. Celeste Rogers was the adviser of the chapter for 43 years--she will be missed. Welcome Mrs. Elise Miller!
Sandhills FBLA is very involved with community and school service. Some of the main community service projects include holding four Red Cross Bloodmobile, highway cleanup, Halloween Party, MADD Cake Auction, March of Dimes, Daffodil Sales, holding a benefit for an area family, assisting with the Halsey 4th of July Barbeque by running the dunk tank and running the Blaine County Fair Games. In addition, we run the Homecoming Pep Rally, make posters for Homecoming, hold concession stands, host the National Honor Society Reception, Christmas Carol, answer letters to Santa, read and listen to the first graders read and type music programs and athletic rosters. The chapter participates in the state and national sponsored events as well. Other community service projects are Hugs for Heroes, Food and Toy Drive, Internet Safety Presentations to the elementary students, and child care for a Love and Logic Parenting Class.

Several students have qualified for National Leadership Conference and the chapter also boasts three former state officers. In addition, we have seventeen Future Achievement Award recipients, four Business Achievement Award recipients, two Leader Achievement Award winners and one American Award recipient.
The chapter has also received Outstanding Chapter recognition several times, the most recent for the 2010-2011 school year.
FBLA received a $150 grant from the Blaine County Community Foundation on January 16, 2010. The grant was used to improve the games for our annual Halloween Party. In addition, Sandhills FBLA received a $250 grant for the 2010-2011 year. Plans are to use the funds for presentations to the elementary students and once again for the Halloween Party. Another grant for $100 was received for the 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014 school years, and $150 for the 2014-2015 school year.
